Inventory Required For Ankou Training
Hi all.
Some of you may have read a previous post about training at ankou’s . In order to make the most of that guide you need to be able to fight against them for as long as possible. In other words, you need to know what to bring with you. I forgot to mention that in the guide, so here it is.
- super set (4)
- full guthans
- dragon battleaxe for the strength bonus special.
- Fill up the rest of your inventory with sharks or monkfish (leave 6-8 spaces for drops from ankou’s though).
Last night Jagex made the ankou’s drop battlestaffs, I got told by my mate that they are rare to get and also only come one at a time un-noted, which makes it hard when you are low on inventory spaces.
Another thing that I forgot to mention was that it is possible to get around 50-60,000 xp per hour with these critters, that’s what I’ve been getting anyway.

I just completed a slayer task with Ankous on Friday. I noticed that tehre were quite a few people at them, so you have to swap worlds at times to not get the competition with them. Also, it seems that random events happen there quite a bit, not just to me but other players too.

Yes that is true, every 15 minutes or so if you havent had a random event by then you can bury a bone to get one. Which is very good if you need to get camo sets or even mime sets etc.

hey, just a slight mod on the invent. i train down there pretty much every time i log on (got from lvl 80 to 102 purely through ankou)
This is depending on your lvl. I would only really suggest ankou for reasonably high lvls. Say, 85+. Otherwise your going to find using guthans a real pain. The best inventory i have found is as follows…
- Your guthans set (you should look to swap to this at about 40hp)
- Another good armor set, rune and higher (swap to it at full health, saves $$$)
- Your weapon for training (whip for att and def, ss or d scimi for strength)
- Salve amulet (AN ABSOLUTE MUST, your exp will skyrocket. Preferably “e”)
- Combat pots (say, 12)
- Telly tab, varrok
The rest of your invent should be free. You dont need any food, because you have your guthans. If your paranoid, bring a shark, but ankou sometimes drop cooked bass, and i usually find myself with too many of them. For added protection, a ring of life is recommended. A wealth will get you nothing (ankous dont drop any rares) and a ring of life could just save your but if your not paying attention. Now here’s a great tip thats gona make getting your cb 138 sooo much easier…..
Dont fight the lvl 75′s…. their crowded. Everyone knows that. However, rarely is anyone in the main room (take the portal to the chamber room, then its the first room on the way back out. Its huge, you cant miss it) This room is avoided because of the ghosts. They drop nothing. But, they are good exp. The beauty of this room is that its so big, its possible to keep your prey aggressive without leaving it (saves time clicking your target, you can watch tv and train at the same time). To keep them aggressive, run from the center to the NORTH door, stand there for a few seconds, then run to the SOUTH door, stand again, then back to the center. Do this, and regardless of the ghosts, youll be leaving with 200+ of each runes, a few battle stalves, and enough charms to keep you happy till you die. Another way around guthans for all those high lvls with summoning, is the bunyip. They restore 2hp every 15 secconds, and should keep you on near full hp. Theirs a summoning restore obelisk at the very entry of the crypt.
Good luck training everyone, i hope to see you all down here slaughtering shortly.

Thanks for that, I haven’t been to ankous for ages now so haven’t had a chance to add in the summoning familiars. You need 68 summoning for the bunyip, I use them alot for slayer now

Ok, i think that training in the big room is dumb, especially if u don’t have guthans or the required summoning levels. Go to the small room… there is rarely a time when you absolutely cant kill an ankou 20 seconds after you killed your last, even if it is crowded. my last ankou run got me 4m.
Keep in mind that this was one run, no leaving whatsoever. All you do is bring 15 sharks, a weapon of some sort, and good armour. a dds is recommended. after you run out of food, pick up all the bones that you can store in your inventory, and use a bones to peaches tablet, these can be bought at the grand exchange. for my 4m run i brought, torags body and legs, berzerker helm, whip, dds, d boots, ammy of glory, d gloves, 15 monks and 100 bones to banana tabs, i also brought an obby cape. just in this one run, it took two days, or about 12 hours, and i went from cb 97, to 99. this method, i think, works extremely well.

you can try the ankous til 99 strength, not sure if they are worth doing now, but they’re probably worth a try. Thanks, glad the guide was helpful.

I when i go to Ankou’s using the Salve Amulet (e) i get around 50k-60k xp per hour and the money varies but i easily make over 100k per hour by killing Ankou’s if i’m doing well 200k+.
Gear:
Rune armour, Whip or equivalent, Bunyip Pouches or Guthans armour (for healing).

You can’t do the bone thing any more it doesn’t work, also for people without the cash to get guthans and they want a long profitable run, you can use bones to peaches, about 100 lasts me a good 2 weeks (84 defence)

Yah, euhm.
I’ve been training at ankous for ages, they’re SIMPLY the fucking best, the best thing you can do is buy(OR BORROW) a SGS and use piety when you use it, your health will skyrocket and you won’t need ANY food.
If you have a friend with a SGS ask if you can borrow it, it’ll save you a shitload of money.
