Dragon Drop Today
Today was one of those rare days when I got a dragon drop. The last and only other time I got a dragon drop (apart from dragon boots) was when I managed to get a dragon medium helmet from a fire giant slayer task about 1 year ago.
As it turned out, today’s drop was a dragon left half, which is not as good a drop as it was when I saw Delarue64 get it at my place about 1 and a half years ago. When delarue64 had his dragon left half drop from a Basilik, they were worth over 2 million each. Now they are only worth about 450,000. However, I decided to pick it up rather than leave it on the ground. lol. Coincidently, Delarue64 was at my place again today and saw me get the dragon left half. So we had some shared luck there.
So how did I get this drop? I recently, last weekend, completed the Karamja achievement diary, which allowed me to get the Karamja gloves 3. These gloves are quite handy, as they allow quick access to Shilo Village. This means quick access to the slayer master “Duradel”, which I took full advantage of. One of today’s tasks was 15 Steel Dragons. The very 1st Steel dragon slayed dropped the dragon left half. It was such a surprise.
I am hoping for more regular dragon drops, but we shall have to wait and see.

yes that is true, the karamja gloves are great to use.
I had the same luck with the steel dragons the other night, but I got dragon platelegs on the first kill of the 19 required for the task. I was hoping to get a Draconic Visage, but was happy enough to get the legs lol. Maybe next time I will get the visage. Well done with the Dragon left half by the way. Dragon Square shields are still one of the best shields in the game for defence.

Wow, Runemaster. I have killed hundreds and hundreds of metal dragons without any dragon platelegs or skirts. I have read that they are fairly common with steel dragons, but I never had the luck you did today. Congratulations.
Yes, the Draconic Visage is a very rare drop and it would be great to get one of those.

I had to wait about a year or so for mine aswell, but it seems that the dragon boots don’t take so long to get. So maybe they are worth getting for a while if you have the slayer level that is, I only have 74 slayer so I haven’t experienced the rarity of the dragon boots, but I was there with crowlion once and saw that he got a few pretty quickly, including 2 in 5 kills or so.

I guess I’m lucky or something because every time that I kill a steel dragon they always drop dragon! I have 25 sets of full dragon armor in the bank. I started 1 mounth ago and now here I am.

i got 4 dskirts,2dlegs,2.4k rune javs,7k rune darts p, 2 dmeds,120 rune limbs and no visage but trust me i no it sounds dumb collect evrything you get even coin i end up getting avout 500k a load and if i get a dragon drop i make that much of a profit. and now with the ex you can just drop it off there and go back to killing dragons and wen ur done repeat process. oh yea and i got 86 mage now 8P just throwing up some advise. and if u wanna get ur mage up i suggest alchin ur javs and rune darts u get some good money and a hell of alof of exp.

wow guys, you have all had not too bad of luck, i have been down at the iron drags for over a week now, i sware i have killed over 1k iron drags and havnt gottin a thing….starting to run out of proffit money to go back lol….

Better luck next time.
I find that the watch tower blue dragons are better to kill because it is rarely crowded, and there is a lot of them around, as well as lots of safe spots.

Ive Been trying for a visage for so long …. ive killed well over 1k of iron, steel and black dragons and still no visage … =/ i would love to get one but i think im just an unlucky person lol.

Well done everyone.Ive killed almost 100 irons and hoping for a dragon drop and a draconic isage drop.ive killed over 250 blacks and nothing great but my best drop from both was a rune 2h.

I got a dragon plateskirt last night from steel drags, would have had d skirt then legs in 2 kills, but a mage stole my steel drag while an iron drag attacked me and got the legs

you would have a better chance to get 1m from a level 3 scroll, although I haven’t had much luck with them lately.

this may sound wierd but i think if u do slayer tasks you might have a better chance of getting good drops, i’ve read all the entries and most of the good drops that are beleveble have been from slayer tasks. anyhow gl with the visage im also trying to get one myself but no luck so far

That is a good point Lunaham.. perhaps you are more likely to get a dragon drop when you are doing a slayer task. The only dragon drops that I have got so far are from slayer tasks. Having said that, I do most of my combat through slayer (and previously a bit of pc).
Jayne160.. I hope that you get to be able to wear dragon soon. It is OK for you to comment on these posts. There are some other posts too that you may want to comment on rather than this one all the time though?

thanks! I looked at the other forums but I’m most interested in this one the most, um I was luck about a week ago and a got a lvl 1 clue scroll, it was easy. I got 2 g trimmed hats so that was 1mil, so um I already have a full set of dragon minus the square shield and chainbody…. I’m itching to wear it!

One question, what would be the best thing to train on for a lvl 69, while still getting at least a few dragon drops within about 2 hour I don’t care what it drops but preferably at least a d med helm or any piece of armor of any type in d plz somone answer soon I would even take a d dagger if it was the best to train on, but I don’t want something that could totally own me within a few minutes even if I’m eating like crazy, I don’t carw if its in the wildy or anything, but plz tell me if there are any monsters to fight within the vicinity of the non member areas like varrok that drop dragon, if it is out of reach you mite wanna give me instructions plz… ( I haven’t been outside of the non member parts much, I’ve only been to castle wars and that’s it for the members areas. I don’t need the d visage rite now I don’t care about that rite now, it would be nice to have though… plz reply.

You can get dragon drops from many monsters. For instance any monsters that drop gems also give the chance to drop a dragon shield half. It would be very hard to get a dragon drop within 2 hours, unless you were extremely lucky or had a slayer level high enough to fight spiritual mages to get dragon boots. Despite having both 99 attack and 99 strength, I have only had 2 dragon drops (apart from dragon boots). Dragon drops are rare.

there is no monster that i know of that drops dragon longs, the lowest for dragon platelegs would be bronze dragons which are around 130 i think, and dragon axes are from daganoths kings around level 300 or so.

uh I may not be a master at runescape or an owner of this forum but I have common sence, just use the best weapon you can use like a d long, open with 2 speacials attacks with the ddp(dragon dagger poison) speacials and switch to the d long or any other dragon weapon… or use an abby whip is u can use or afford one

i have killed around 1000 iron drags and 500 steels and i havnt gotten any decent drops…apart from 2 d skirts if you want to make as much profit at the metal drags i reccomend useing broad bolts anti-fire pots and full void.

thats.. impossible…. mith drags don’t drops chains, only dust devils and kalphite queems….. legs are dropped by all metal drags but mith, u can’t just get the shield in one piece either…

i killed 203 kbd and got the visage, i think it is better to get a task from your slayer master because the chances of getting it will be higher… And by the way, “the ring of wealth does not help at all for getting a visage”, it only helps getting rune drops.. so my advice to gettting a visage is getting a task from slayer master.. Gl on getting visage!!

gratz on the vissage but i wanted to note that blk dragons dont drop vissages only steel and irons do so if your training on any other dragons you wont get vissage just wanted to point that out also, I got one after about 500 irons =)

also if you are fighting with mele you can kill the dragons easy with anti-fire pots prayer pots and protect from mele, lol they wont even hit you once as long as you keep protects on with shield.

oh yeah didnt mean blks lol ment to put mithril dragons, but a good way to get is kill king blk dragon u should get one within 100 trips of killing it or so my team got after about 23 time we went 100 times but only got 1 also whenever going to fight dragons that drop visage you should take the wrench it helps prayer not drain as quick and gives prayer bonus =)

iya guys iv been killing steel and iron drags for absolutly ages lmao and still vissage my best drop is a d skirt but im determand 2 get a vissage and since i been doing it just trying 2 get 1 iv gone up so many lvls so quick when i started i was a lvl 70 range nearly 80 now and iv gone up 20 prayer lvls and a couple hp lvls i think its good that evry 1 is trying 2 get good drops fro the dragons cuz ull keep trying and soon enouhth ull get one and ull have gd stats n all

Man i got lucky too, like 2 months ago i started playing again, i lost 235m cash.. because of some dude that hacked me, so my idea was to kill some irons and get me some d legs to sell
only the thing was it became a visage instead!!! man i was happy and decided to keep playing rs because i could buy all the stuff i needed

By the way, at the moment i am at the safe spot with mithril dragons, i got around 70-80 kills now and no visage or d full helm, just 185k cash nd 300 bloods and chewed bones, but maybe the chewed bones will give me a d full

KartKid-18… yes you can get a draconic visage with iron dragons, although I have not been so lucky yet.
You can get a left half with any monster that drops gems.
Daredemon95, you could kill some steel dragons with those levels, but it would be very slow and unproductive. In my opinion, you would be better fighter lower levels until you get your stats up more. Doing slayer tasks is a great way to get monsters to kill and it can be very rewarding. For instance, whips are now over 3m again.

hey this is dr c s i… so i started a clan recently with over 50 members already .. the cc is dd elite .. feel free to join .. so me and 2 others from the clan went to kbd and in 24 kills we got a total of 3 rune longs , 3 d med splits , and 1 visage split .. we each made 15m that trip .. i also went to solo today and got visage on my 8th kill .. we also did a barrows event 3 days ago and i got 2 dharok helms within 3 hours .. started with 5m last week .. now i have almost 100m

Got visage from irons today
About 3400 kills so far with 4 d legs, 9 skirts, and about 1.5M from alchs and coin drops. Going to make myself a shield.

i have gotten 2 d legs 5 skirts and 2 spears from 400 steel/irons
slayer is an awsome way for money(im 79 slayer and i make average 3-4m a slay lvl) so if u want money do slayer, pm me in game if u got any questions im happy to help
my last 4 slay tasks were 92 iron 90 steel 89 steel and 79 iron(lucky lol)

Honestly. I say using full void with dfs, and broad bolts is a fast killing method. I haven’t got a visage but i have 99 range and i manage about 2O drags am hour. Do that. Should get a visage quick.

sharky, the visage is rare from all the dragons, is you want cash I’d probably do black dragons for the hides and bones, but it might be quicker to do irons or steels depending on which you like more. I don’t think there is much difference in drop rate at all.

Sorry to say but getting a visage is quite easy i only went to mithril dragons 25 times and got 5 draconic visages so its not impossible. You can get a visage before 1 year so its quite easy. So far from steel dragons i have 30 dragon platelegs :p

hi. iv been hunting vissys since they came out and up to now ive got 23. sold 20 and kept 3 for own useage. im now mucho reeeeeeeeech!
anyway iv made a thread on the rs forums about draconic vissys and found out the folowing that may help u.
u can get vissys from the 8 folowing.
this is also in order of how common the vissy drop is
Mithril dragon
King black dragon
Steel dragon
Skeletal Wyrven
Black dragon
Iron dragon
Brutal green dragon
Bronze dragon
however, the most effective monster to kill to get vissy is actualy the steel dragon, while it does have less chance of getting than mith or kbd, with kbd ur in a team so the chances of getting 1 urself from it are slim, and mith dragons take too long to kill solo and by the time u get 1 uv prob spent more than earned.

*sigh* 400 blacks killed, 62 irons, 12 steel (i’m working on that one lol), and 140 bronzes…. still nothing (not even a dragon drop) but at least range is going up…
