How To Slay Aquanites

March 15, 2011 By: BRT Cj Category: Runescape Monsters

Hey guys, sorry for late guides, I haven’t been doing much slayer since getting 99.

Slayers using Kuradel and wishing to get this task need to unlock it for 50 slayer points in the rewards section.

Here is a picture of what the Aquanites look like.

Aquanites are level 114 combat, they have 1250 life points and give 125 slayer experience each and require 78 slayer to be able to kill them. Magic protection prayer seemed to be inefficient as Aquanites occasionally knock it down. They are weak to stab and ranged, in this guide I will be showing my melee method as I found it to be easier for the task. Aquanites also attack with magic, and are at the end of the slayer cave in relekka.

Below is the gear I use, the weapon is a chaotic rapier for its high stab bonus, you could use chaotic longsword or a whip if you don’t have a chaotic rapier.

The cape is ardy cape 4, it is for its stab attack bonus and magic defence bonus of +6.

I used karils for the high magic defence, and also because armadyl gives negative stab bonus. The ring is only for teleporting to get a new task, you can use a ring to help kill them faster if you prefer, perhaps a berserker ring would be beneficial for the strength bonus, or onyx ring (i) for the stab bonus.

The inventory below is only a second shot at getting it right, it contains items that help preserve space in the inventory such as herbicide (to get herb experience for herbs drops from kills), bonecrusher ( to get prayer bonus from the big bones dropped per kill), bolt pouch (to hold multi bolts). The various runes are for placeholders for frequent drops, also alch runes for the water and air battle staffs that get dropped. If you can’t use a unicorn stallion, a good alternative would be to use a bunyip with the swallow whole scrolls like with the waterfiend guide, because of the frequent raw food drops.

The sword in the bottom left corner is enhanced excalibur for the special attack that heals 400 lifepoints and gives a defence boost.

The excalibur was also positioned in that spot for using the special quickly by using the hot key method (f5 and f1). I have tested both overloads and extreme sets, and found extreme sets to be more beneficial because health was an issue with overloads. My healing methods were unicorn> Excalibur >food, as food was for emergencies.

Aquanites drop a variety of herbs (ranging from guam to dwarf weed) and seeds ranging from avantoe to torstol seeds., heaps of rune and addy bolts, hence the need for the bolt pouch that holds up to 250 in each slot. They also drop 10 rune darts frequently. As with most monsters Aquanites drop hard clue scrolls.

The way I set my herbicide potion, was so that none of the herbs were left on the ground and I got 2x the cleaning experience for all of them, to save inventory.

They also are the only monster that drops the ranging amulet, which gives +15 ranging attack, making it the best ranging amulet in game to date, but only at the price of 800k.

Below is the loot I got from 194 Aquanites, please note I didn’t pick up green or gold charms as I have 99 summoning, but from what I  saw they weren’t that common of a drop compared to the blue charm rate.

The noted seaweed and snape grass isn’t an accurate measurement of how much you will get per task, as I started collecting near the end of the task as I had spare inventory spaces, same applies for the air and water runes. The herb seeds I collected were snapdragon, kwuarm, torstol,

Hopefully you found this guide helpful, if you have any confusion about the items I used, or have any comments or suggestions on how I can make this guide better, please comment below. 🙂

Slaying Ice Warriors With 1 Defence Pures

November 20, 2010 By: BRT Cj Category: Runescape Monsters

This guide will show you how to cannon ice warriors for 1 defence pures.

First of all you need to have 50+ mining, or in my case I had 49 but used dwarven stout to get through the tunnel.

Here is the inventory I used, note: this picture was taken about 10 kills into my tasks of 103.

Here is the equipment I used keep in mind this is a 1 defence guide, you can use better if you have higher defence, also the lightness boots can be swapped for climbing if you are 1 defence:

Here is the end result of the 103 ice warrior task:

The seeds were snapdragon and lantadyme. I started with 2000 cannonballs, so overall it was a cheap slayer task and gave around 6k experience at the end. They also drop 2-3 mithril and adamant arrows but I didn’t keep them as I needed room for the cannon.

The ice gloves are from the Ice queen in the area, but you can trap here as shown in this picture:

Well that’s it for the guide,  hope it helps, any questions comments or suggestions feel free to comment below. 🙂

Warped Floors Update

November 03, 2010 By: BRT Cj Category: Runescape News

The long awaited for third batch for dungeoneering is finally out. 🙂 From a quick glimpse the rewards look great, especially the spirit cape and bone necklace. 🙂

Good luck to all that are 95+ dungeoneering already, will look forward to seeing the floors when I reach there myself.

On a side note, the update about decanting potions in noted form is good, except it wouldn’t work for the extreme potions. 🙁

For those worthy enough to reach them, the Warped Floors delve another thirteen floors deeper underground. Six new bosses await dungeoneers here, such as the crazed human test-subject Blink, who has been driven mad by his love for portal magic. Use the room’s cover to your advantage and perhaps you’ll live to survive his furious attacks – but there are no promises. Then there are the hope devourers, behemoths with a hunger for an opponent’s faith. If you fall to this beast, you won’t be the first, or the last.

No Dungeoneering release is complete without challenge rooms, and this update comes with eight new combat and skill-based trials, including one Warped-specific room. This warped room will require sturdy constitution and a mind for puzzles, as you move from room to room through a labyrinth of portals.

With the deepest set of floors comes the final peak of our XP upward curve, allowing Prestige veterans to access the tastiest XP and token rates. Now there’s no excuse to stop at a mere level 99 – it’s onwards to true skill mastery and level 120!

If you’re a reward fiend, then worry not: there are eight new items for those with a token hoard big enough. The bone necklaces restore prayer points when you bury bones (a perfect complement to the bonecrusher), while a spirit cape will reduce the cost of your combat familiar’s special moves. Members might also get their hands on a tamed stalker pet, a curious creature with a nasty habit of collecting your eyelashes and toenail clippings…

Enjoy!

In other news…

The black mask has a new “Remove-charge” option to aid players wanting to sell their masks via the Grand Exchange.

Bob Barter, the Herblore expert at the Grand Exchange who decants your potions into 4-doses for you, will now accept noted potions.

The Daemnonheim boss Icy Bones now correctly drops his ‘Troll scrawlings’ – a part of the Dungeoneering journal.

The Yanille pet shop owner will now allow players to sell as many spirit shards as they like.

All skillcapes have now been reworked to use identical skill icons.

The Halloween event will now remain in-game until next week.

Nomad Killing Guide Video

October 09, 2010 By: BRT Cj Category: Runescape Tips

Hello all,

I have made a video about killing nomad in the quest nomad’s requiem, as I have noticed so many people have trouble with this fight, here is the information about the fight.

Aj used armadyl chestplate, plateskirt, helm of neitznoit, fury amulet, rune crossbow with diamond bolts (e), dragon boots, blessed spirit shield, defence cape, barrows gloves, whip and dragon dagger p++ in inventory for specials.

The familiars Aj used were war tortoise, and spirit kyatt. You can substitute these for pak yak and steel titan if you have them.

When preparing inventory and Beast of Burden, make sure you keep saradomin brews and super restores at a ratio of 3:1 brew:res. Take a couple rocktails for emergencys, boost pots don’t seem to be worth the effort, apart from overloads if you have them. Use soulsplit instead of deflect magic if you have it, have drain mage, range and melee ones on, Aj only had sap drains in this video.

After your beast of burden has ran out of inventory dismiss it and summon an attacking familiar, spirit kyatt seems to do a good job for low levels.

Avoid stepping on the orange things he drops as they do 400 damage as you might be able to see in this vid when Aj made that mistake.

When Nomad teleports you and freezes you to the spot, that’s when he will do a special attack that will do your constitution level minus 1, so heal up over your health limit with brews/rocktails.

When he talks about wrath, that is when he will do 750 damage attack.
He will talk about how your senses will serve you, that is when he will split up into 4, attack the one that attacks first if you can, also your familiar will probably pick him out first.

Nomad will heal when you get him to 1/3 health, then will go into melee rage mode when you get him back down to 1/4 health, when he does that make sure you turn deflect/protect melee on or he will down you quickly.

Some tips about spirit kyatt scrolls, it seems that it can backfire and attack you, and hit pretty accurately, make sure to call it if it turns on you.

At the end of the video, you speak to the imp and go back to see nomad’s dead body. After the quest complete scroll, you can talk to the imp and ask him about rewards and you can pick your colour cape.

Here is the video, hope you enjoy it. 🙂

The Void Stares Back Quest Release

October 06, 2010 By: BRT Cj Category: Runescape News

?????? ?????????

The third grandmaster quest for 2010 is now released, hopefully they keep up the trend of the other two and have good rewards to go with it. 🙂 The login screen change is useful, less clicks to log in now. Hopefully the updates with runecrafting are good, use to hate runecrafting bloods through the abyss because of the extra movement/clicks to make them.

I was in the middle of a bandos trip, hopefully they don’t have many updates to fix stuff after this is done, as I want to get back there soon. 🙂

EDIT: Here is a picture of the solution to the 3rd or 4th puzzle, hope it helps. 🙂

For fighting the Queen at end, I used a combination of special restores, saradomin brews, super restore/prays, rocktails, yak full of rocktail/brew/restore combo. To defeat the queen, protect the archers at all costs, by killing the defilers when they spawn, as they kill the healers. When the queen is about to do the special attack that does 500+ damage to everything around it, use the Korasi’s sword special attack to stop it.

Good luck to all that try, the complete rewards are below in this picture.

The books of equilibrium give 50k experience each to any combat skill.

The Void Stares Back marks the end of the Void Knight quest series we started this summer. So far, you have investigated and tracked a released pest; unscrambled Korasi’s memories; witnessed the death of Void Knights at the hands of a mysterious figure; pushed around beer barrels; infiltrated a Black Knight workshop; and played with puzzle boxes.

Once more, the Void Knights call on you for assistance. Their skills at stealth are not nearly as keen as your own and Korasi needs you to infiltrate the Black Knights again. Doing so will lead to many dangers, both mental and physical, but will enable you to discover who the real mastermind behind this nefarious pest-fuelled plot is, and what they really wanted those puzzle boxes for…

Finding out is the easy part, though, as stopping them will push your diplomatic and strategic skills to the limit as you command your knightly allies against a truly unhinged foe. Oh, and you might want to brush up on your Conquest tactics as well.

After all of these trials, tribulations and moral quandaries, your standing among the Void Knights will be judged, but we’re sure you’ll not be found wanting…as you’ll also be thoroughly rewarded with a variety of experience and some upgraded Void Knight gear that shows off your true colours.

In other news…

The various Deflect curses now work properly with the God Wars Dungeons boss, Kree’arra. Previously, it would ignore the Deflect curses, but worked with the normal Protect From prayers.

A quick option has been added to altars in Daemonheim to allow you to quickly restore your Prayer points. That’s particularly useful if you’re in combat at the time!

Moved some of the higher parts of the Wilderness wall so preferred runecrafting routes are unaffected.

Using an empty plant pot on a farming patch will now fill all of the empty ones in your inventory.

The login screen has been simplified and reworked to make it even easier to login.

You’ll now arrive closer to the Blood Altar when travelling there via the Abyss.

We’ve fixed the magical blastbox to work correctly with the Fire Bolt spell.

Added a confirm message when dismantling godswords.
