I recently got told by a friend about a method to get more then one enhanced Excaliburs, as I died at Armadyl God Wars Dungeon and lost my only one I had.

You need to have completed the hard Seers diary for this to work.

For those that don’t know what an enhanced Excalibur does, it gives a special attack that requires 100% special, or 90% with ring of vigour that gives 15% defence bonus, the same as a super defence potion, heals 20hp per 2 seconds for 10 seconds, or 20 seconds if you have done the elite Seers diary. You can swap weapons and still have the healing and defence effect active, however if you log out you will lose the healing effect. This is a cheap replacement for Saradomin Godsword, and is often used at Armadyl God Wars Dungeon.

It is a simple and often not used method for multiple items, talk to the lady of the lake in Taverly, just south of the tree patch and ask about getting your Excalibur back, (it will cost 500gp per excalibur) then drop it and ask for another one, repeat as many times as required then pick them up and ask her to enchant them, she will enchant them all in one go.

Hope this mini tip helped, more coming in the future.

A Armadyl item is not necessary for the Armadyl followers(Avansies) are in the opposite side of the dungeon.
Make sure Auto Retaliate is OFF at all times.

Getting There:
Arriving at the God Wars Dungeon is an easy task to any explorer or boss hunter for there are several methods to get there, here are two:
*Note: In order to use “Method 1″ you MUST have a pair of climbing boots

Method 1:

Start by teleporting to Taverley(Games Necklace/House Teleport) and run through the troll infested mountain side until you reach the thrower trolls (Missile prayer is needed). After, find the big snow covered boulder blocking the path to the dungeon and pass it by any of your desirable means. Keep following the path, pass the wolfs and enter God Wars Dungeon.
*Note: Teleport Runes or Chipped House Teleport Tablet May be used on “Method 2″.

Method 2:

Teleport to the Troll Stronghold and run past the thrower trolls (Missile prayer is needed). Find the big snow covered boulder blocking the path to dungeon and pass it by any of your desirable means. Keep following the path, pass the wolfs and enter God Wars Dungeon.

Inside God Wars Dungeon & Kill Count
Once you arrive inside the dungeon quickly turn Protect from missiles and head to the opposite side of the Armadyl followers. Once there you should be beside a broken ice bridge. It is suggested to get a kill count of 20 or more with prayer usage before crossing the ice bridge for once on the other side (Zamorak area) your prayer points will be completely drained. After you have used all your prayer points on as many kills as possible cross the bridge and finish collecting the Kill Count if not done so already. The Required Kill Count is 40 to be able to enter the Boss area. It is also suggested to kill imps or werewolves for Kill Count.

Hello all,

I have made a video about killing nomad in the quest nomad’s requiem, as I have noticed so many people have trouble with this fight, here is the information about the fight.

Aj used armadyl chestplate, plateskirt, helm of neitznoit, fury amulet, rune crossbow with diamond bolts (e), dragon boots, blessed spirit shield, defence cape, barrows gloves, whip and dragon dagger p++ in inventory for specials.

The familiars Aj used were war tortoise, and spirit kyatt. You can substitute these for pak yak and steel titan if you have them.

When preparing inventory and Beast of Burden, make sure you keep saradomin brews and super restores at a ratio of 3:1 brew:res. Take a couple rocktails for emergencys, boost pots don’t seem to be worth the effort, apart from overloads if you have them. Use soulsplit instead of deflect magic if you have it, have drain mage, range and melee ones on, Aj only had sap drains in this video.

After your beast of burden has ran out of inventory dismiss it and summon an attacking familiar, spirit kyatt seems to do a good job for low levels.

Avoid stepping on the orange things he drops as they do 400 damage as you might be able to see in this vid when Aj made that mistake.

When Nomad teleports you and freezes you to the spot, that’s when he will do a special attack that will do your constitution level minus 1, so heal up over your health limit with brews/rocktails.

When he talks about wrath, that is when he will do 750 damage attack.
He will talk about how your senses will serve you, that is when he will split up into 4, attack the one that attacks first if you can, also your familiar will probably pick him out first.

Nomad will heal when you get him to 1/3 health, then will go into melee rage mode when you get him back down to 1/4 health, when he does that make sure you turn deflect/protect melee on or he will down you quickly.

Some tips about spirit kyatt scrolls, it seems that it can backfire and attack you, and hit pretty accurately, make sure to call it if it turns on you.

At the end of the video, you speak to the imp and go back to see nomad’s dead body. After the quest complete scroll, you can talk to the imp and ask him about rewards and you can pick your colour cape.

Here is the video, hope you enjoy it.

It looks as though there was another improvement to Runescape during its latest upgrade. You now get all of the battlestaffs from Zaff (in Varrock) in noted form. This means that there is no repeat trips needed that waste your energy. Nice update Jagex.. keep them coming.

For those that do not know already, buying battlestaffs from Zaff for 7000 each, then selling them in the Grand Exchange is very profitable. Currently the price in the Grand Exchange is 8284 per battlestaff. So that is 1284 profit per staff.

The problem is that without any Varrock Achievement diary completions, you can only get 8 battlestaffs a day (that is still over 10k profit per day though). If you finish the 1st level of Varrock Achievement Diary, then you can buy 16 per day (over 20k profit per day). 2nd level give the ability of buying 32 in a day (over 40k profit in a day) and 3rd level lets you buy 64 battlestaffs per day (over 80k profit per day).

So you can see that this is a profitable system. I buy the full 64 every day that I play. Having them noted saves having to do 3 trips.

Also, you can buy air orbs from the GE (currently 1093) and make air battlestaffs (as long as you have over 66 crafting). This will then give you some handy crafting experience (137.5 each). Cost is 8093 and you can alch them for 9300 for the cost of 1 nature rune. This is what I do with my battlestaffs. Profit is over 64K minus the nature runes, and 8800 crafting experience.

All the best.

The evil tree event from Runescape came out a few days ago and Delarue64 and I tried it recently. Amazingly we had 2 Elder trees in a row. They are the toughest trees to kill.

You find out about the evil trees by talking to a spirit tree. They 1st tell you about a sappling and then give a clue to the whereabouts. For the 1st tree the clue was something like “the southern coast of a tropical island”. This turned out to be on Ape Atoll. The 2nd tree gave a clue something like “near a runecrafting altar”. This tree was near the body altar.

Here are some pictures Delarue64 took when a sapling was being nurtured at McGrubor’s woods, the sapling ended up being a willow tree. They show all the stages of a sapling. He didn’t nurture the sapling as he didn’t want to take the risk of getting a low tree, nurturing trees counts as one of your daily trees.

This is the first stage of the sapling, when you first find it.

This is the second stage of the sapling, before it turns into a young tree.

This is the first stage of a young tree, when it just transforms from a sapling.

This is the final stage for the sapling before it turns into an evil tree, this is the 2nd stage of a young tree.

After a couple of minutes or so, the sappling develops into an evil tree and the spirit tree then gives and option to teleport to it. Below is a picture of us at the Elder Evil tree at Ape Atoll. In fact I was the 1st person to find it on this occasion. I was hoping for a reward similar to shooting stars, but that did not happen, lol.

If you try to cut the tree near the roots, then the roots will knock you away from it. So you either have to move away or chop the roots.

One thing to note about this location is that poisonous spiders possibly attack you if you do not wear the monkey gree gree. Delarue64 got attacked and had to come back with some anti-poison pots. So one must be careful what you bring to an evil tree. It could possibly take you to a dangerous location.

This was the 1st Evil Tree that we found, which was located at Ape Atoll. It was an Elder Tree.

An Elder Tree requires 85 wood cutting and/or 85 firemaking. That meant that I could not burn the tree, because I had less than 85 fire making, but Delarue64 could. Below is a picture of Delarue64 burning the tree at the 2nd location (near the mind altar). In order to burn the tree, you need to have some kindling from chopping down one of the roots. You then click on “light fire” as shown below. You can have up to 8 fires per Elder Tree and it gave Delarue64 about 16,000 fire experience for all 8 fires. I also got about 14,000 woodcutting xp from chopping the tree.

A ring of fire around the Evil Elder Tree

When the tree is dead, you can claim your rewards. The rewards differ for everyone, but I got 74 mahogany logs, 1 maple tree seed and some coins for the 1st tree and below is a picture of the rewards from the second tree.

Here is the rewards that I got from the Evil Elder Tree

On top of those rewards the leprechaun gives you a great bonus that can be seen below.

This bonus is pretty cool. You can keep cutting trees without having to bank.

Below is a picture of delarue64 and me cutting willows and taking advantage of the free banking time.

You can see stars above my bald head after a willow log gets sent directly to my bank. In the meantime, the bottom right hand side shows a burning log from Delarue64's inferno adze.

It seems like this is good experience and worth while. I got a further 21k xp from cutting willows in the 21 minutes. The bad news is that only 2 trees can be cut in a day. It might be worth joining a evil tree clan chat to alert you about upcoming evil trees. I did notice that there was a clan “tree find” that seemed to be active. Happy evil tree hunting.

Updates:

The spirit trees now give more information on the timing of the evil tree sprouting. The spirit tree now tells you the time it will take to sprout… over 1 hour, over half an hour, under half an hour, less than 15 minutes, about to sprout, a sappling has sprouted and the evil tree is ready to dispatch. The 2 most popular evil tree clans are “eviltreechat” and “treehunters”.

When there a sappling has sprouted, the spirit tree will give you a clue to its whereabouts. After a while you will get used to the locations, although I tend to wait at the spirit tree for a free teleport most of the time.

Have you ever lost your dwarven cannon before on Runescape? Well last night I lost mine for the 1st time when my Internet connection was lost for several minutes.

Although I know that it was only pixels and only a game, it was still a bit sad to know that I had lost about 600k due to a faulty Internet connection. However, after telling Delarue64 about me losing the cannon, he told me how to get it back… and for free. Below is how you too can get your cannon back for free.

It is actually quite simple to get your cannon back. First you have to find Nulodion, who can be found in the western building to the north of the Dwarven Mines. He will then give you some options.

Here are the 1st questions that Nulodion asks

Obviously, you choose I’ve lost my cannon.

Nulodion shows some sympathy

So Nulodion shows some sympathy towards you losing the cannon.

Nulodion telling me to keep it quiet

Whoops, looks like I did not keep it quiet… I have put it on this blog post, lol.

Yay, I got my cannon back. Also shows the map where to find Nulodion.

So thanks Delarue64 for showing me how to get my cannon back for free. I hope that others benefit from this post too.

Update Note: Use high defence armour such as torag or bandos instead of karils, because wyverns do not attack with magic based attacks. It was a mistake I made when making this guide on my second task, for more info look at the comments below.

Recently Jagex updated slayer to allow us to get rewards from tasks we do, for example you get 15 points for doing a task from duradel (if you swap a task with turadel you have to do 5 tasks straight before you can get points). The points can be used to buy a few different things to help slayer including 10k xp, learning to make some slayer items, being able to block tasks you dont like and a few more. I learnt this the hard way when i did a couple of tasks and didn’t get points then read the slayer guide on the runescape site. I skipped a skeletal wyvern task thinking they were way to hard, I tried them today and I will tell you how I did it and what I got.

Skeletal Wyverns are level 140 and have 200 hitpoints and give 210 slayer xp and also can drop a draconic visage and granite platelegs as their top drops. They attack with an ice breath that can freeze you aswell as range and melee attacks. You can find Skeletal Wyverns at the ice cave south of port sarim just past the ice trolls and warriors.

I attempted 2 methods, the first one was using super restores and saradomin brews for food, and the second one was using a super set 4 super restores and the rest tuna and sweetcorn potatoes. After a little bit of killing with the brew/restore method I realized that it wasnt working that great because it lower attack and strength too often. I prefered the second method because it was easier and made me last alot longer without having to worry about potting all the time. Both methods used protection from melee prayer as they attack with that more often then range.

Each trip with the second method I managed to kill between 20 and 26 skeletal wyverns with around 30+ crimson charms per trip and some bolts from mithril – rune aswell as some runes.

For armour I used :

Black mask, should use slayer helmet now though

glory amulet

attack cape (t)

karils top and skirt

barrows gloves

dragon boots, I recommend bandos boots though if you want prayer bonus and a little extra defence

ring of life

whip

and last but not least a mind shield, the most important piece of armour or you will get killed very quickly, this can be swapped for a dragonfire shield or elemental shield.

At the end of the 77 wyverns I got assigned I got around 80 crimson, over 40 gold and green and 2 blue charms. Around 60-70 addy bolts, 40 rune and mithril bolts (I didn’t get an accurate count as I banked everything after every trip). The code I used for the fairy rings was AIQ it teles you to the mudskipper island which is just south west of the cave entrance.

So all in all it wasn’t so hard of a task, just took a bit longer then most, but the way I see it. It’s worth doing if you want the points to be able to make a slayer helmet or other things. Don’t forget to take a mind shield or elemental or a dragonfire shield or you will get hit 50+s.

Happy slaying and goodluck with visages.

We decided to create a poll for this site and the 1st poll asks what low level familiar do you like best. Feel free to comment about the familiars here, particularly if the familiar you prefer best in not on the list. We have asked for low level familiars (in this case level 56 summoning or below), because many have not had a chance to use higher level ones.

Personally I have found the magpie useful. I have got up to 11 pieces of jewelry or uncut gems in one summons from the magpie, including rings of life, rings of forging, rings of recoil, rings of dueling, diamond rings, ruby rings, emerald rings and sapphire rings. Most of the uncut gems tend to be rubies and diamonds. Magpies can increase your thieving by 2 levels too.

When fishing, the ibis is handy. I have used it twice. The 1st time, when I was fishing for monkfish, it gave me 9 sworides. The next time I fished for sharks I got 15 swordies and 3 tuna. The Ibis gives you an invisible fishing bonus too, which always helps.

I have not yet used the spirit terror bird, even though I have the pouches, but I know that it can be very handy. It would be great for when you want to collect snape grass, as you can use carry 12 snape grass with it as well as using the energy and agility increase. At the start of the video below, the terror bird is seen in action.

So, it is a toss up between these 3 for me, but I think that I would marginally chose the magpie because I can use it while doing anything (ibis needs you to be fishing for it to work). Also the rewards are worth more.
