Deposit all update

March 04, 2009 By: Delarue64 Category: Runescape News No Comments →

I am glad that there is a reduction of clicks in Runescape, every reduction saves time and finger pain.  The noted update helps me too. I  have often used the bank for noted items and returned later to get a weapon out, only to find it noted again. This update will certainly benefit me.

Increasing the Red Chinchompas will potentially entice me to do some hunting. It gets so crowded there at times and it is a pain when someone jumps near your space when you find a clear world.

I have sometimes missed bird nests falling from a tree that I am cutting, so the increase in sound should help me out now. The Ectofuntus looks more attractive now with this update, although I will probably still use my altar from my house.

This week’s continuation of our Upgrade Year brings a significant reduction in the number of clicks when interacting with the RuneScape bank, and more information about the wealth you are carrying – a feature that will also help you determine whether you are risking enough wealth on PvP worlds to gain the drop potential.

When it comes to depositing items in the bank, we have had a rethink: instead of insisting that you click on each individual item you want to deposit, we decided to give you the option to deposit everything that is in your inventory, or everything you are wearing and wielding. The sorting in the bank works as follows: everything that already has an equivalent item in the bank gets stacked, while all other items will end up in the tab that is currently active.

The behaviour of the “noted” button has also changed, so that whenever you close and then re-open the bank, it will revert to its default, unnoted state.

Finally, the Items Kept on Death button will now show you the total value of everything you are wearing and carrying, and the value of all the items you are at risk of losing. This is in addition to the price-checker we introduced last week, and its main purpose is to allow you to determine whether you are risking the necessary 75k (or 25k on a free world) to qualify for the better drops on PvP worlds (click here for more details on PvP-world drops). Of course, this new feature can also be used on normal worlds – particularly useful if you want to find out how much you would lose if those pesky, stone-throwing trolls finally got you…

…All of which should give you more free time to earn XP, talk to your friends, and generally have fun! Enjoy :)

In Other News…

Red chinchompas have been breeding in the jungle, and can now be found in slightly larger numbers – so grab your hunting gear and get hunting!

The Humidify spell from the Lunar spell book can no longer be cast while in the Soul Wars minigame.

The sounds associated with birds’ nests you sometimes hear when chopping down trees are now more audible, so you can tell more easily when a nest has fallen to the floor.

The Ectofuntus grinder can now be set to either manual or auto when grinding bones, which can be toggled on and off at your leisure. Also, the disciples will now be able to hold up four times as many ecto-tokens than they used to.

Slaying Mutated Bloodvelds

March 02, 2009 By: Delarue64 Category: Runescape Monsters 2 Comments →

Earlier this week I started doing slayer again since I got 99 defence. Mutated bloodvelds are by far give the best slayer experience for the time spent on the task, and are the best to use a cannon for in my opinion. They are level 126 and 146 and have 178 hp for the 126 and 196 for the 146. To get to them you need to have finished the legacy of seergaze quest. They are like the normal bloodvelds as they attack with magic based melee, but because I used the cannon I just used protect from melee prayer.

This is the equipment I used for the mutated bloodveld task.

A quick way to get to them instead of going through the maze all over again through meiyerditch, is to go through the abyss and go through the blood teleport, although if you have some blood altar tele tabs from the great orb project mini game they work better as you don’t lose your prayer then. Once at the outside of the altar, head east til you can go south into the room shown in the picture below.

For the task of 183 mutated bloodvelds it took all 2k of the cannonballs I took with me, but it might take more or less depending on the amount you get given, as well as how accurate and quick you kill them yourself too. I also suggest taking a familiar to either hold your stuff when you pick up your cannon when your task is done, and or to take one to help kill off the bloodvelds like I did with the geyser titan.

The mutated bloodvelds are good for gold charms, not so good for green charms like the normal bloodvelds are. They are good for runes aswell, they drop all elemental runes except waters 50 at a time. The orange potion in the picture below is a zamorak brew, it gives +20% attack and +12% strength,  but lowers defence and hitpoints by 10% which doesn’t matter much for these as you are using prayer all the time anyway.

this is a picture of my 183 mutated bloodveld task, I had to drop the fire runes to pick up my cannon though.

Sorry about the bad quality of the picture for arrows and throwing knives, the arrows were rune they drop them 6 at a time, and the 190 throwing knives were addy and the others were rune. The dds was to do specials on them to kill them off quickly, but that isn’t needed anymore since you don’t get as many randoms during the tasks. I took too many prayer potions for the task as I haven’t had these in a while, I suggest around 8 for the whole task depending on your prayer level, mine was 80 at the time of this task.

this is basically what to take to the mutated bloodvelds, add in the cannon and cannonballs though, and the 2nd zam brew should be a 4 not a 3.

Hope this guide has helped, happy mutated bloodveld slaying!
