Auto Retaliate Update

March 25, 2009 By: Delarue64 Category: Runescape News 1 Comment →

This was also found on the runescape forums, it was posted by Mod Michael. The quick find code for this post is “15-16-868-58571365″. Hopefully this will fix the problems that they had, it was annoying when trying to run from masses of mages in stealing creations and having to stop in the middle of running because your character ran back to them.

We are releasing an update this afternoon to fix a problem players have been reporting with the Auto-Retaliate feature in combat.

This addresses the issue where it could take several clicks to get you out of combat and move away.

This update is only to fix this problem and nothing else is being changed.

Lootshare Adjustments Update

March 25, 2009 By: Delarue64 Category: Runescape News No Comments →

This text below was found on the runescape forums, it was posted by Mod Benny. The quick find code for this forum is “15-16-417-58571207″. It looks good although I’ve rarely used lootshare, hopefully it helps some people out perhaps in their godwars boss battles. :)

Hey,

We have made a few adjustments to the way monster drops are distributed via LootShare.

The system still favours the player in the clan who has the most LootShare points, but a bit less so than it previously did. In the old system, the chances of getting a drop quickly deteriorated as you got further down the list, and it was very common that a small subset of all players in a big clan claimed a vast majority of the rewards while most people left empty-handed, even after several hours of fighting. This has now changed so that people further down the list have a greater chance of receiving drops, but there is still a noticeable difference compared to those with the most points.

Apart from this change in loot distribution, the system remains exactly the same as it did before.

We’d really like to hear your feedback on these changes once you’ve had a chance to try it out.

Pre Purchase Update And More Updates

March 25, 2009 By: Delarue64 Category: Runescape News 2 Comments →

Jagex has just updated runescape, from what I’ve read of it, it looks pretty helpful. Going to try out the new prayer option in player owned houses after I finish this post, hopefully it will be a lot easier to use your bones on your altar from what I read in the patch notes on the runescape forums (the quick find code for the patch notes is “15-16-320-58575028″. Now back to this part of the update, the pre purchase option looks interesting, I had just previously purchased a saradomin stole on my pure without thinking that it needed 60 prayer for it, so will lose some money on that, hopefully with this update it will stop things like this happening again. :)

I wonder what the dragon platebody will look like after the update, I haven’t bought one back since the big crash in the market when it was first released. Hopefully the prayer button update will be handy, will check it out soon. The ranged weapon strength looks interesting, will come in handy when I go for 99 range soon.

When it comes to great weapons and armour there is plenty of choice in RuneScape. In fact there are so many different items it’s sometimes hard to keep track of them all. This is why we are introducing the pre-purchase advice tool. Before you buy anything – from a shop, at the Grand Exchange, or from another player – you can now check out what the bonuses of the item are, and, in the case of worn items, whether there are any restrictions that might prevent you from wearing them. You can use this tool to find out what skills you need to train, and what quests you need to complete, to use a particular item.

Those of you who are in possession of a dragon platebody will see that it has undergone a graphical overhaul, as requested by you on the forums.

Next, we have made a change to the equipped inventory screen for Ranged weapons, so now you can see the ranged strength of weapons like javelins, arrows and crossbow bolts.

The fourth upgrade for this week will save you valuable seconds in times of need. The Prayer button near the minimap has undergone an overhaul so you can now set a prayer, or group of prayers, before you go into action, and activate or de-activate it with one click. The button will also indicate the loss of Prayer points by gradually fading out – similar to the behaviour of the Hitpoints button. This should help prevent you accidentally running out of Prayer points, and finding yourself suddenly vulnerable to attack.

As you may know, we recently made some changes to the Culinaromancer’s chest in Lumbridge and the gnome cuisine fruit ‘n’ veg shop in the Grand Tree. We have now reconsidered these changes, and have decided to implement a different approach: we have returned the shops’ stock prices to their former state, and have removed the option to sell stock back to those shops.

Finally, we’ve taken on board the feedback you gave us about last month’s quest list improvement, and made changes in response to some common issues. New text makes it clear when not all quests are shown, but the best improvements are behind the scenes: the options you set before you log out will be there again when you return, and we have greatly reduced the delay involved in switching the list between quests and achievements.
