A Great Place To Train For Melee Stats

September 25, 2007 By: BRT Cj Category: Runescape Tips 3 Comments →

Are you looking for a place to get 99 attack, strength and or defence?

Well we have found a great spot to train them all.

Training at ankou’s has been found to have great rewards, which include death runes, blood runes, adamant arrows, pure essence, mithril ore, law runes and the occasional level 3 clue scroll.

The ankou’s have 60 hit points and don’t hit you very often if you wear the appropriate equipment, which I will mention later in this post. Having 70 defence of higher seems to help, as pures have struggled with these. The ankou’s respawn quickly, although this area can get very often when a lot of people are on. It is a 1 on 1 fight area so, you don’t have to worry about people trying to steal your own ankou.

The equipment that we suggest is: fire cape, fighter torso, helm of neitiznot, rune defender, salve amulet (e), dragon legs or bandos tassets, dragon boots, barrows gloves, whip (for attack or defence training), dragon scimitar (for strength training). Some replacements for those items if you can’t afford some of them are: skill cape (t) or untrimmed, berserker helm, obsidian shield, salve amulet or glory amulet, rune plate body and legs, rune boots.
Ankou’s can be found on the fourth floor of the security stronghold located in the middle of the barbarian village.

A friend of mine did 99 strength here and said that he made over 40M from 88-99.

Happy ankou killing.

Herblore Updates

September 12, 2007 By: BRT Cj Category: Runescape News 2 Comments →

There is no longer unidentifyable herbs now, they have made it so when you get the herbs from monsters that you see what they are you just have to clean them to be able to use them in potions. I found this very useful when I did my fire giant task as I was running low of room and could only take the valuable herbs.

Feel free to let us know what you think about this update.

How To Get Dragon Boots

September 07, 2007 By: crowlion Category: Runescape Tips 22 Comments →

There are a few ways to get dragon boots. They include buying them from other players (currently for about 700K), snatching them after some other player dies or by slaying the spiritual mages. I am going to talk about the 3rd method, as I just obtained my 1st pair of dragon boots last night.

I must admit that I was a little bit nervous about going into the God Wars Dungeon after seeing posts about how dangerous it is, so I ventured in with Delarue64.  We were surprised at how easy it really was.  I was not sure what equipment to take, but decided upon taking black dragonhide,  Dragon Scimmy (trying to get 99 strength now) Saradomin Cape, Holy Book, some ropes, some sharks, prayer pots, super restore and a super set.

After pushing the big boulder, I walked northwards to the dying knight, obtained the scroll and then entered the dungeon. I then walked to the SE corner near the Saradomin Stronghold entrance. In that corner, not one of the monsters attacked me, as only Saradomin and Zamorak monsters were there and I was wearing a piece of equipment from both gods.

To be able to fight against the Spiritual Mages you need at least 83 slayer. I had 85, so there was no problems there. I tried to attack the mage near the entrance and although I killed it very easily, I found that it hit me quite easily. So I started using prayer against it.  The fights went very quickly, so not much prayer was drained. The rewards were very meagre, mostly runes.  What I did realize though, was that when the mage attacked the Werewolf, then it focussed on it rather than me. So I could turn my prayer off then.

Once I reached 40 sara kills, I entered the Saradomin Stronghold. Delarue64, tried too, with an agility potion, but unfortunately that did not work (you need at least 70 agility and a rope to enter).  Once again, due to the book and cape, I did not get attacked by anything. There was a Werewolf and a Vampire in there too which were attacking the mages, particularly the Werewolf. So I did not need prayer or food while fighting in there. It took just over 250 sara kills before I obtained the dragon boots. Ironically, the mage that dropped the dragon boots was half killed by the Werewolf before I finished it off.

Perhaps I will get brave enough to try and beat a boss one day, but for now I am happy that I finally got my own dragon boots.

Cheers
